    The Petronas families and what each covers

    Petronas Lubricants International holds a strong European position, built largely on a long-standing relationship with the Iveco group and the Italian manufacturers:

    • Urania — heavy-duty engine oils, with well-covered approvals on the European commercial vehicle side.
    • Syntium — passenger car engine oils, including low-SAPS grades for DPF engines.
    • Tutela — transmission, axle and auxiliary system fluids for vehicles.
    • The industrial hydraulic range — HLP and HVLP in the usual grades.
    • Industrial gear and compressor oils for mainstream applications.
    • Paraflu — coolants, on current technologies.

    Where Petronas makes sense

    The most concrete argument for Petronas is on fleets running Iveco vehicles and, more generally, on commercial fleets of Italian origin, where the approvals are covered directly and the workshop often asks for these products by name. Urania has a well-structured Euro VI range, and Tutela covers transmissions and axles without needing a second supplier. Price-performance is generally better than the big global brands at the same specifications, which matters on fleets with high annual consumption. On the purely industrial side the range is less deep than Shell's or TotalEnergies' — on niche applications we will suggest alternatives.
