Manufacturer's description
K 854 is an extreme-pressure semifluid grease developed for the lubrication of spur-gear steering boxes. Its semifluid NLGI 00/000 consistency allows it to flow around the gear teeth and fill the housing while still clinging to the loaded contact surfaces. The grease is built on a lithium soap thickener and mineral base oil, and contains molybdenum disulphide as a solid-lubricant filler, giving it its characteristic black colour and additional protection under extreme-pressure conditions. Typical properties include a worked penetration of 450 mm/10, a penetration of 260 mm/10 at -20 °C and a dropping point of 180 °C. K 854 is classified NLGI 00/000.
