PETRONAS Syntium 5000 AV 5W-30 is a fully synthetic lubricant for petrol and diesel engines, formulated for engines of the Volkswagen group, including those fitted with a particulate filter, allowing maximum protection and reliability of the engine. It is suitable for the same range of Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, SUVs and light vans, including biofuel-running vehicles equipped with after-treatment exhaust and emission control devices such as diesel particulate filters, catalytic converters, fuel injectors, multi-valves, turbochargers or superchargers operating under severe conditions. It offers excellent protection of after-treatment exhaust systems, exceptional thermal stability to protect against high temperature, induced sludge, varnish and deposits for supreme engine power and cleanliness, superior fuel economy, exceptional shear stability to keep the optimal oil film thickness at any temperature and in any climate, and instant lubrication at start-up that minimizes friction and wear. The oil meets the ACEA C3 specification and carries MB approval 229.51, VW 504.00/507.00 and Porsche C30 approvals, and meets BMW LL-04 performance. Typical physical characteristics include a density of 0.852 g/cm³ at 15°C, a viscosity of 11.9 cSt at 100°C, a viscosity index of 160, a TBN of 5.7 mgKOH/g, a flash point above 200°C and a pour point below -36°C.
