PETRONAS Grease Li EP 3 belongs to the Grease Li EP 1/2/3 family, recommended for the lubrication of both plain and anti-friction bearings even where severe or shock loads are experienced. Other applications include bushings and pins, geared couplings at normal speeds, and vibrating shafts and sliding mechanisms under normal operating conditions, over an operating temperature range of -30°C to +130°C. While the softer NLGI 1 grade suits centralised lubrication systems and NLGI 2 serves as the general-purpose grade, the stiffer NLGI 3 consistency of Li EP 3 is mainly recommended for applications where maximum protection against penetration of water or solid contaminants is required. The grease provides good mechanical stability, high load-carrying capacity, shock-load capability, long service life and excellent oxidation resistance, together with effective rust and corrosion protection. Grease Li EP 3 meets DIN Classification KP3K-20 and ISO 12924 L-XC(F)CHB3, with a worked penetration of 220-250 mm/10, a dropping point of 190°C and a base oil viscosity of 190 cSt at 40°C.

Applications

• Other applications include bushings and pins, geared couplings at normal speeds, vibrating shafts and sliding mechanisms under normal operating conditions. The softer NLGI 1 is ideally suited for Centralized Lubrication Systems (CLS) whilst the NLGI 2 is a general purpose grease. The stiffer NLGI 3 grease is mainly recommended for applications where maximum protection against penetration of water or solid contaminants is required. Operating temperature range is -30°C to +130°C
