Manufacturer's description

PETRONAS Tutela Brake Fluid Extreme HT is a brake fluid based on glycol ethers and boric esters, developed for special racing applications where braking systems are pushed to extreme temperatures. Its very high dry boiling point of 285 °C and wet boiling point of 201 °C keep the fluid stable under intense, repeated braking and protect against vapour lock and fade. The fluid is clear, yellow to amber in colour, with a density of 1.074 g/cm³ at 15 °C, a viscosity of 2.6 cSt at 100 °C and 1230 cSt at -40 °C, a water content below 0.2% and full rubber compatibility, ensuring seals and hoses are preserved. Specifications and approvals: FMVSS 116 DOT 4, SAE J1703, SAE J1704, ISO 4925 Class 4, CUNA NC 956-01, ENSAYOS INTA - UNE 26-109-88, FIAT 9.55597 (Contractual Technical Ref. No. F001.M01), Maserati approved.

Standards & approvals

  • CUNA NC 956-01

CUNA NC 956-01 — Italian lubricant classification

The CUNA classification — the Italian automotive standards commission — which numbers the categories of vehicle lubricants and fluids.

  • ENSAYOS INTA - UNE 26-109-88

UNE 26-109-88, INTA testing — engine oil (Spain)

The Spanish engine oil standard, with the testing carried out by INTA, the national aerospace technology institute that certified them.

  • FMVSS 116 - DOT4

    FMVSS 116 DOT 4 — brake fluid

The US federal safety regulation defining the DOT brake fluid levels. DOT 4 demands a high boiling point both dry and after the fluid has taken up water.

  • ISO 4925 Class 4

    Brake fluid Class 4 — ISO 4925

The international standard for glycol brake fluids; class 4 matches the DOT 4 level, with a high boiling point both dry and wet.

  • SAE J 1704

    SAE J1704 — DOT 4 brake fluid

The SAE standard for DOT 4 brake fluids, with a higher boiling point than DOT 3, particularly once the fluid has taken up water.

  • SAE J1703

    SAE J1703 — DOT 3 brake fluid

The SAE standard for glycol brake fluids at the DOT 3 level, defined by dry and wet boiling point.
