PETRONAS Syntium 3000 AV 5W-40 is a fully synthetic lubricant formulated with °CoolTech™ technology that effectively controls damaging heat, resists oxidation and prevents oil degradation and deposit build-up, protecting engine parts and maintaining efficiency for the full drain interval. It is especially designed for passenger cars, SUVs and vans using direct-injection turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines such as Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz, and is also suitable for vehicles running on biofuels or fitted with after-treatment exhaust systems, catalytic converters, fuel injectors, multi-valves or turbochargers operating under severe conditions. Benefits include exceptional resistance to oxidation and oil degradation that effectively controls sludge for maximum engine efficiency and lower emissions, superior lubrication capability that reduces wear in the valvetrain and cylinder wall, and superior piston cleanliness by controlling combustion-driven piston temperature rise for a longer engine life and maximized power output and fuel efficiency. The oil meets the API SP specification and the ACEA C3 performance level, and carries approvals VW 505.00/505.01, MB 229.51, Porsche A40, Renault RN0700/RN0710, FCA 955535-S2 and Ford WSS-M2C917-A. Typical physical characteristics include a density of 0.8551 g/cm³ at 15°C, a kinematic viscosity of 14 cSt at 100°C, a viscosity index of 171, a flash point of 230°C, a TBN of 7.46 mgKOH/g, CCS of 6003 mPa·s at -30°C and a pour point of -42°C.

Applications

• PETRONAS Syntium 3000 AV 5W-40 is especially designed for passenger cars, SUVs and vans using direct injection turbocharged gasoline engines and diesel engines such as in Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz (please refer to the owner’s manual). It is also suitable for vehicles running on biofuels and those equipped with after treatment exhaust system, and emission control devices such as catalytic converters; fuel injectors, multi-valves or turbochargers operating under severe conditions.
