Manufacturer's description

PETRONAS Urania 5000 LSE 10W-40 is a synthetic engine oil formulated with StrongTech technology, engineered to stay stronger for longer by forming a uniquely strong fluid film that extends drain intervals and engine life while maximizing performance and reducing total cost of ownership. It is a low-SAPS oil suitable for Euro VI and Euro V heavy-duty diesel applications, including modern, high-output, low-emission engines fitted with DPF, SCR, DOC and EGR after-treatment systems, as well as newer and older turbocharged and naturally aspirated diesel engines, on-highway and off-highway, running on high or ultra-low sulphur diesel and biodiesel. It can be used where MB 226.9 is recommended and is suitable for OEMs requiring the specified performance levels on CNG vehicles. Its low-ash formulation gives outstanding protection for DPF and DOC after-treatment systems, excellent control of deposit build-up, controlled acidity for reduced corrosion, longer oil-drain capability on low-emission engines, and effective control of soot build-up. Urania 5000 LSE 10W-40 meets API CI-4, ACEA E11/E8/E7 and JASO DH-2, and is approved to Daimler Truck Fluid Release (DTFR) 15C110 (backward compatible with MB 228.51 and previous E6-16, E9-16 and E7-16 classifications), Mack EO-N, Renault RLD-2 and Volvo VDS-3, with additional performance-level recognition from CAT ECF-1a, Cummins CES 20077/20076, Deutz DQC IV-18 LA and TTCD, MAN M3477/M3271-1, MTU Oil Category 3.1 and Renault RXD/RGD.

Applications

  • This helps in extending engine life and reduces the total cost of ownership. PETRONAS Urania 5000 LSE 10W-40 is low SAPS engine oil suitable for Euro VI and Euro V heavy-duty diesel applications including modern, high-output, low emission engines fitted with emission control system using DPF, SCR, DOC and EGR technologies. It is also suitable for new and old turbocharged and naturally aspirated diesel engines, both on-highway and off-highway, running on high or ultra-low Sulphur diesel and bio-diesel. It can be used where MB 226.9 is recommended. Suitable for OEMs requiring specifications listed below for their CNG vehicles. PETRONAS Urania 5000 LSE 10W-40 is approved Daimler Truck Fluid Release (DTFR) 15C110, fully backward compatible and suitable for use for vehicles recommending the previous Daimler MB 228.51 specification. Fully backward compatible with previous E6-16, E9-16 and E7-16 classifications.

Standards & approvals

  • API CI-4

Diesel engine oil, API CI-4 performance level

API's service category for compression-ignition engines. Current category.Source

  • ACEA E11

ACEA E11 — heavy-duty diesel, low SAPS, extended drain

An ACEA sequence for Euro VI and later heavy-duty diesel engines fitted with DPF and SCR. It requires low-SAPS additive chemistry (reduced sulphur, ash and phosphorus) and the oxidation resistance needed for extended drain intervals.

  • ACEA E8

    ACEA E8 oil sequence

  • JASO DH-2

JASO DH-2 — diesel engine oil

The Japanese standard for heavy-duty diesel engine oils in DPF-equipped engines, with sulphated ash capped so the filter does not clog.

  • DTFR 15C110

Daimler Truck DTFR 15C110 (formerly MB 228.51) — low-SAPS engine oil, Euro VI

A low-SAPS oil for high-performance diesel engines with aftertreatment, with severe piston cleanliness and wear protection requirements. The usual Euro VI level. Daimler Truck renumbered the MB-Approval sheets into the DTFR series; MB 228.51 and DTFR 15C110 are the same requirement.Source

  • CAT ECF-1a

    Caterpillar ECF-1a

Caterpillar's first Engine Crankcase Fluid category, for CAT diesel engines without advanced aftertreatment. Superseded by ECF-2 and ECF-3.

  • Renault RLD-2

Renault Trucks RLD-2 — heavy-duty diesel engine oil

Renault Trucks' specification for extended-drain truck engine oils at the ACEA E7 level, without a low-ash requirement.

  • Deutz DQC IV-18 LA

Deutz DQC IV-18 LA (low ash)

The 2018 issue of Deutz class IV with low ash — Deutz's top level for engines with full exhaust aftertreatment.

  • Volvo VDS-3

Volvo's engine oil specification for Euro III–V trucks without a particulate filter, with severe soot control requirements for EGR engines.
