PARAFLU 11 BITREX is an engine coolant concentrate that acts as an antifreeze and protective fluid for the cooling system. It is based on ethylene glycol and corrosion inhibitors and contains an aversive (bittering) agent, which gives the fluid an unpleasant taste to discourage accidental ingestion. Diluted 50 % with water, the coolant offers a freezing point of -38 °C and a boiling point of 108 °C, with a pH of 7.7 and a reserve alkalinity of 16 ml HCl 0.1 N; it passes the ASTM D 1384 glassware corrosion test, confirming its protection of the metals found in cooling systems. PARAFLU 11 BITREX meets FIAT 9.55523, CUNA NC 956-16, IVECO 18-1830, ASTM D 3306 Type 1 and ASTM D 6210 Type 1-FF.
