Manufacturer's description

PETRONAS Hydraulic 100 is a high performance anti-wear hydraulic fluid recommended for various mobile and industrial hydraulic systems operating under normal to heavy-duty conditions, and for hydraulic systems demanding high quality anti-wear fluids. It may conditionally also be used in circulation, splash, bath and ring oiling systems feeding lubricant to gears and bearings, though the local Technical Service Team and/or OEM manual should always be consulted before application; for premium-performance anti-wear needs, the PETRONAS Hydraulic PLUS Series is recommended instead. Formulated at ISO VG 100, it provides reliable anti-wear protection, good water separability, low foaming, effective rust and corrosion protection, and a long oxidation life, evidenced by a TOST life of 3,900 hours (specification minimum 1,000 hours) and an FZG load-carrying stage of 12 (minimum required 10). Grade 100 has a kinematic viscosity of 100 cSt at 40°C and 11.2 cSt at 100°C, a viscosity index of 97, a flash point of 240°C and a pour point of -27°C. PETRONAS Hydraulic 100 meets ASTM D 6158 HM, ISO 11158 HM, DIN 51524 Part II HLP, SAE MS1004, and OEM specifications including Bosch Rexroth RD90220, Parker Denison HF-0/HF-1/HF-2, Eaton 03-401-2010, GM LS-2, Fives Cincinnati P-68/P-69/P-70 and US Steel 126/127/136.

Standards & approvals

  • ASTM D 6158 HM (2005)

ASTM D6158, type HM — antiwear hydraulic oil

The American standard for mineral hydraulic oils of type HM, that is, oils with antiwear additives. It is the ASTM counterpart of DIN 51524-2 HLP and ISO 11158 HM.

  • ISO 11158 HM (FDIS 2008)

Hydraulic oil, type H HM (FDIS 2008) — ISO 11158

The international standard for mineral hydraulic fluids; class HM is the antiwear oil, the ISO counterpart of DIN 51524-2 HLP.

  • Bosch Rexroth RD90220

Bosch Rexroth RD 90220 — mineral hydraulic fluids

Bosch Rexroth's works standard for mineral hydraulic fluids in its own equipment: filterability, cleanliness and antiwear performance beyond DIN 51524.

  • Parker Denison HF-0

Parker Denison HF-0 — hydraulic fluid, most severe level

The most severe level of the Denison hydraulic fluid specification: the oil must pass the wear test on both a vane pump and a piston pump, dry and in the presence of water. HF-0 subsumes HF-1 and HF-2.

  • Parker Denison HF0/HF1/HF2

    Parker Denison HF-0, HF-1 and HF-2

The three Denison hydraulic fluid levels quoted together. An oil covering all three passes the vane pump and piston pump tests alike, including in the presence of water.

  • DIN 51524 Part II HLP (2006)

Hydraulic oil Part II HLP (2006) — DIN 51524

Part 2 of the German hydraulic fluid standard: HLP oils — mineral oils with oxidation, corrosion and antiwear additives. It is the most widely quoted reference in industrial hydraulics.

  • SAE MS1004

SAE MS1004 — brake fluid classification

The SAE classification standard for glycol brake fluids, grouping the DOT levels by boiling point and cold viscosity.

  • Eaton 03-401-2010

    Eaton 03-401-2010 — hydraulic fluids

Eaton's hydraulic fluid specification for its own pumps and motors, which unified the former Vickers I-286-S and M-2950-S requirements.

  • SEB 181 222 (2007)

    SEB 181 222 — HLP hydraulic oil

A delivery condition for mineral HLP hydraulic oils to DIN 51524-2, used when supplying German industrial equipment.

  • Fives Cincinnati P-68/P-69/P-70

    Fives Cincinnati P-68, P-69 and P-70 — hydraulic oils

The three Fives Cincinnati approvals for machine tool hydraulic oils, one per viscosity grade: P-68 for ISO VG 32, P-70 for ISO VG 46 and P-69 for ISO VG 68.

  • US Steel 126

    U.S. Steel 126 — antiwear hydraulic oil

The steel industry specification for antiwear hydraulic oils: wear protection, oxidation stability and demulsibility in rolling mill systems, where water is always present.

  • AISE 127

AISE 127 — steel mill lubrication recommendations

The AISE — today AIST — standard collecting the lubrication recommendations for steel plant installations: oil types, viscosity grades and requirements per equipment group.

  • GM LS-2 (2004)

The 2004 issue of the GM LS-2 specification for extreme-pressure gear lubricants.
