Tutela Hydraulic AP 46
Anti-wear hydraulic oil for moderately stressed mobile and industrial equipment
ISO VG 46
PETRONAS HYDRAULIC E 46 is part of the PETRONAS Hydraulic E Series, a range of anti-wear hydraulic fluids specially developed for a wide variety of mobile and industrial hydraulic equipment operating under normal to moderately stressed conditions. It is formulated with selected mineral base oils enhanced with advanced anti-wear, antioxidant, anti-rust and anti-foam additives, providing anti-wear protection and smooth operation of the hydraulic system. The fluid is recommended for mobile and industrial hydraulic systems that require an anti-wear fluid. Conditionally it may also be used in circulation, splash, bath and ring oiling systems feeding lubricant to gears and bearings, after consulting the PETRONAS Technical Service Team or the OEM manual. Its features include very good anti-wear protection for long equipment life, very good oxidation stability at regular temperatures and pressures, very good rust and corrosion protection in the presence of water, very good water separability that keeps system efficiency high and reduces maintenance costs, and very good compatibility with most metal alloys, seals and elastomers, preventing leaks and contamination. This ISO VG 46 grade has a typical kinematic viscosity of 46 cSt at 40°C and 6.7 cSt at 100°C, viscosity index 97, flash point 196°C and pour point -33°C. It meets the performance levels of ASTM D 6158 HM, DIN 51524 Part II HLP, ISO 11158 HM and Parker Denison HF-2.
ASTM D6158, type HM — antiwear hydraulic oil
The American standard for mineral hydraulic oils of type HM, that is, oils with antiwear additives. It is the ASTM counterpart of DIN 51524-2 HLP and ISO 11158 HM.
Hydraulic oil Part II HLP — DIN 51524
Part 2 of the German hydraulic fluid standard: HLP oils — mineral oils with oxidation, corrosion and antiwear additives. It is the most widely quoted reference in industrial hydraulics.
Hydraulic oil, type H HM — ISO 11158
The international standard for mineral hydraulic fluids; class HM is the antiwear oil, the ISO counterpart of DIN 51524-2 HLP.
Parker Denison HF-2 — hydraulic fluid
The HF-2 level of the Denison specification, defined by the vane pump wear test. It is the base requirement for hydraulic oils in Denison equipment.
