Petronas Hydraulic 46
High-performance mineral anti-wear hydraulic oil for mobile and industrial equipment
ISO VG 46
PETRONAS Hydraulic HV 46 belongs to the PETRONAS Hydraulic HV Series of high performance, wear-resistant hydraulic fluids, formulated with high quality selected base oils, a shear-stable VI improver, and advanced anti-wear, antioxidant, anti-rust and anti-foam additives. It is recommended for mobile and industrial hydraulic systems operating under normal to heavy-duty conditions that demand good control of fluid viscosity, systems subjected to high or rapid variations in operating or ambient temperature, outdoor systems in cold climates with frequent cold start-ups, and systems requiring high precision and stable efficiency, such as moulding machines. The high viscosity index formulation provides strong anti-wear protection and more stable performance across a wider temperature range than standard-VI products, together with an oxidation life up to three times longer than the minimum ISO 11158 HV TOST requirement. Grade 46 has a kinematic viscosity of 46 cSt at 40°C and 7.9 cSt at 100°C, a viscosity index of 143, a flash point of 220°C and a pour point of -33°C. PETRONAS Hydraulic HV Series meets or exceeds ASTM D 6158 HV, ISO 11158 HV, DIN 51524 Part II HLP and Part III HVLP, SAE MS1004, and OEM specifications including Bosch Rexroth RD90220, Parker Denison HF-0/HF-1/HF-2, Eaton 03-401-2010, GM LS-2, Fives Cincinnati P-68/P-69/P-70 and US Steel 126/127/136.
ASTM D6158, type HV — high-viscosity-index hydraulic oil
The HV class of ASTM D6158: an antiwear hydraulic oil with a high viscosity index that holds its fluidity across a wide temperature range — typical for equipment working outdoors.
The 2004 issue of the GM LS-2 specification for extreme-pressure gear lubricants.
Bosch Rexroth RD 90220 — mineral hydraulic fluids
Bosch Rexroth's works standard for mineral hydraulic fluids in its own equipment: filterability, cleanliness and antiwear performance beyond DIN 51524.
Hydraulic oil, type H HV (FDIS 2008) — ISO 11158
Class HV of ISO 11158: an antiwear hydraulic oil with a high viscosity index, for systems exposed to wide temperature swings.
Hydraulic oil Part II HLP — DIN 51524
Part 2 of the German hydraulic fluid standard: HLP oils — mineral oils with oxidation, corrosion and antiwear additives. It is the most widely quoted reference in industrial hydraulics.
Parker Denison HF-0 — hydraulic fluid, most severe level
The most severe level of the Denison hydraulic fluid specification: the oil must pass the wear test on both a vane pump and a piston pump, dry and in the presence of water. HF-0 subsumes HF-1 and HF-2.
Parker Denison HF-0, HF-1 and HF-2
The three Denison hydraulic fluid levels quoted together. An oil covering all three passes the vane pump and piston pump tests alike, including in the presence of water.
Parker Denison HF-2 — hydraulic fluid
The HF-2 level of the Denison specification, defined by the vane pump wear test. It is the base requirement for hydraulic oils in Denison equipment.
SAE MS1004 — brake fluid classification
The SAE classification standard for glycol brake fluids, grouping the DOT levels by boiling point and cold viscosity.
Eaton 03-401-2010 — hydraulic fluids
Eaton's hydraulic fluid specification for its own pumps and motors, which unified the former Vickers I-286-S and M-2950-S requirements.
SEB 181 222 — HLP hydraulic oil
A delivery condition for mineral HLP hydraulic oils to DIN 51524-2, used when supplying German industrial equipment.
Fives Cincinnati P-68, P-69 and P-70 — hydraulic oils
The three Fives Cincinnati approvals for machine tool hydraulic oils, one per viscosity grade: P-68 for ISO VG 32, P-70 for ISO VG 46 and P-69 for ISO VG 68.
U.S. Steel 126 — antiwear hydraulic oil
The steel industry specification for antiwear hydraulic oils: wear protection, oxidation stability and demulsibility in rolling mill systems, where water is always present.
AISE 127 — steel mill lubrication recommendations
The AISE — today AIST — standard collecting the lubrication recommendations for steel plant installations: oil types, viscosity grades and requirements per equipment group.
