The Agip families and what each covers

The Agip names were reorganised under the Eni brand, but the classic industrial families remain — and still appear that way in the documentation of much of the plant installed in Romania:

  • i-Sigma (formerly Sigma) — heavy-duty engine oils for trucks and machinery.
  • i-Sint — passenger car engine oils, including low-SAPS grades.
  • OSO — HLP hydraulic oils, the family most often cited in equipment specifications.
  • Arnica — HVLP hydraulic oils, with a high viscosity index.
  • Blasia — industrial gear oils, including synthetic versions.
  • Grease and Dicrea — greases and compressor oils respectively.

Where Agip makes sense

Agip is a natural choice on Italian-built plant, where the OSO, Arnica and Blasia families appear directly in the operating manual — and when the manual asks for a name, the simplest thing is to give it that name. The industrial range is complete across the mainstream and well documented. One practical detail: because the names went through the Agip-Eni reorganisation, an old specification from a fifteen-year-old manual does not always map identically onto today's label. This is where it helps to send us exactly what the manual says — we will do the cross-reference, including to other manufacturers' products if availability or price argues for it.
