Manufacturer's description
PETRONAS Tutela DOT 5.1 is a fully-synthetic brake fluid designed for high performance braking systems. It meets FMVSS 116 DOT 5.1, ISO 4925 Class 5-1, SAE J1703, SAE J1704 and ENSAYOS INTA - UNE 26-109-88 specifications. Typical properties include a dry boiling point of 276°C and a wet boiling point of 185°C, with passing results on SBR and EPDM rubber compatibility tests, reflecting the high thermal resistance expected of a DOT 5.1 fluid.
Standards & approvals
SAE J1703
SAE J1703 — DOT 3 brake fluid
The SAE standard for glycol brake fluids at the DOT 3 level, defined by dry and wet boiling point.
SAE J 1704
SAE J1704 — DOT 4 brake fluid
The SAE standard for DOT 4 brake fluids, with a higher boiling point than DOT 3, particularly once the fluid has taken up water.
ENSAYOS INTA - UNE 26-109-88
UNE 26-109-88, INTA testing — engine oil (Spain)
The Spanish engine oil standard, with the testing carried out by INTA, the national aerospace technology institute that certified them.
