Mobil Delvac Super 1400 15W-40
Heavy-duty diesel oil for severe service, MTU Oil Category 2, ACEA E3, API CH-4
SAE 15W-40
Mobil Delvac Legend 15W-40 Heavy Duty is a multigrade, synthetic-blend diesel engine oil that provides protection for diesel engines operating under severe service conditions in both on- and off-highway applications. ExxonMobil recommends it for a wide range of heavy-duty applications and operating environments in trucking, mining, construction, quarrying and agriculture. It is suited to naturally aspirated and turbo-charged diesel equipment from European, Japanese and American manufacturers (in line with owner-manual recommendations), on-highway light and heavy-duty trucking, and off-highway industries. Key benefits include thermal and oxidation stability that helps control sludge build-up and deposits, TBN reserve for deposit control, stay-in-grade shear stability that reduces oil consumption and protects against wear, excellent detergency/dispersancy that keeps engines clean, and component compatibility for long gasket and seal life. The product carries approvals from MTU (Oil Category 2) and DAF (DTFR 15B110), is recommended for ACEA E3/B2, API CF/CF-4/CG-4/SH, Mack EO-M, Volvo VDS-2, MAN M 3275-1, and Renault Trucks RD/RD-2/RLD, while meeting or exceeding API CH-4 and API SJ. It is an SAE 15W-40 grade with viscosity index 137, viscosity 15.2 mm²/s at 100°C, TBN 8 mgKOH/g and pour point -33°C.
MTU oil quality category 2: higher-quality monograde and multigrade oils for MTU diesel engines, without an ash cap.
Daimler Truck DTFR 15B110 (formerly MB 228.3) — multigrade engine oil
A multigrade engine oil for medium- and high-duty diesel engines without exhaust aftertreatment — typically up to Euro IV. Daimler Truck renumbered the MB-Approval sheets into the DTFR series; MB 228.3 and DTFR 15B110 are the same requirement.Source
ACEA E3 oil sequence
ACEA's sequence for heavy-duty diesel engines of the Euro I–III era. An earlier sequence, no longer on ACEA's current list; it remains the level specified for the engines of its era.Source
Diesel engine oil, API CF performance level
API's service category for indirect-injection diesel engines, tolerant of higher-sulphur fuel. An earlier category in the API service classification, written for the engines of its era; it still appears on datasheets alongside the current categories.Source
Diesel engine oil, API CF-4 performance level
API's service category for high-speed four-stroke diesel engines, of the generation preceding the emissions standards. An earlier category in the API service classification, written for the engines of its era; it still appears on datasheets alongside the current categories.Source
Diesel engine oil, API CG-4 performance level
API's service category for heavy-duty diesel engines, written for fuel below 0.5 % sulphur. An earlier category in the API service classification, written for the engines of its era; it still appears on datasheets alongside the current categories.Source
Volvo VDS-2 — Volvo diesel engine oil
The second generation of the Volvo Drain Specification, for heavy-duty diesel engines without aftertreatment. Withdrawn, but still quoted for older fleets.
ACEA B2 oil sequence
ACEA's sequence for light-duty diesel engines. An earlier sequence, no longer on ACEA's current list; it remains the level specified for the engines of its era.Source
MAN M 3275-1 — truck engine oil
MAN's specification for medium-drain truck engine oils at the ACEA E7 level, without a low-ash requirement.
Renault Trucks RD-2 — engine oil (obsolete)
Renault Trucks' old engine oil specification, predating the RLD series. It appears only on datasheets for older fleets.
Petrol engine oil, API SH performance level
API's service category for spark-ignition engines, of the early 1990s. An earlier category in the API service classification, written for the engines of its era; it still appears on datasheets alongside the current categories.Source
