Long-life, low-ash gas engine oil. Shell Mysella S5 N is a high-performance oil, highly regarded for use in four-stroke, spark-ignition gas engines that require a "low ash" oil. Shell Mysella S5 N meets the needs of the new generation of stationary gas engines designed to comply with emerging legislation limiting NOx emissions, as well as those using the latest "lean" or "clean" burn technology. Shell Mysella S5 N has been specially developed to deliver extended oil drain intervals in those natural gas engines where oil life is an operational limiting factor.

- Extended lifeBy resisting oxidation and nitration, viscosity increase and the formation of harmful acids, particularly in demanding combined heat and power (CHP) applications, it offers a step up in oil drain period relative to the previous generation of gas engine oils. (When used with landfill gas or biogas, oil life will depend on the level of contaminants in the gas.)
