Manufacturer's description

Mobil Delvac 1600 Series comprises Mobil Delvac 1630, 1640 and 1650, extra-high-performance monograde diesel engine oils formulated from advanced base oils and a balanced additive system to meet or exceed the demanding specifications of the world's leading modern diesel engine builders. They are recommended by ExxonMobil for European and Japanese-designed intercooled, highly turbocharged engines operating under the most severe on- and off-highway conditions. ExxonMobil recommends the series for diesel-powered equipment from leading manufacturers, on-highway light and heavy-duty trucking, off-highway construction, quarrying and agriculture, and mixed diesel and gasoline fleets. Key benefits include outstanding protection against oil thickening, high-temperature deposits, sludge build-up and oil degradation for extended oil life beyond OEM drain intervals and excellent ring-sticking protection; exceptional wear protection that reduces maintenance costs and extends engine life; and excellent soot-handling capability that maintains viscosity control and reduces wear. The three grades — SAE 30 (Delvac 1630), SAE 40 (Delvac 1640) and SAE 50 (Delvac 1650) — carry approvals including MTU Oil Category 2 (1630), Wartsila approval for 4-stroke medium-speed distillate- and dual-fuel engines (1640), and ZF TE-ML 04B (1650), and are recommended for ACEA E2, Allison C-4, API CF/SF and MAN 270 (varying by grade). Typical properties include TBN 12 mgKOH/g across all grades, sulfated ash 1.4 mass%, and viscosity index from 110 (SAE 50) to 117 (SAE 30).
