Manufacturer's description

Mobil Delvac HD 10W-40 is a semi-synthetic, high-performance diesel engine oil engineered to lubricate modern, high-performance, low-emission engines used in severe applications. Its high-performance base oils provide excellent low-temperature fluidity, high-temperature viscosity retention and volatility control, while the proven advanced additive system helps toward long engine life and maintains the efficiency of emission-reduction systems including the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). It is recommended for heavy-duty diesel engines, including Euro V/VI low-emission vehicles fitted with DPF, Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), Continuously Regenerating Traps (CRT), Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC) and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), engines running low-sulphur diesel and many biodiesel formulations, and naturally aspirated and turbo-charged diesel equipment in on-highway short- and long-haul trucks and buses. Key benefits include protection against oil thickening, high-temperature deposits and sludge for long drain-interval capability, low ash/sulphur/phosphorus levels that help protect DPF and other exhaust devices, and good low-temperature properties for improved pumpability and oil circulation. The product carries an MTU approval (Oil Category 3.1), is recommended for MAN M 3477 and ACEA E6, and meets or exceeds DAF Extended Drain. It is an SAE 10W-40 grade with viscosity index 153, viscosity 13.7 mm²/s at 100°C, TBN 11.3 mgKOH/g and pour point -42°C.

Applications

  • • Heavy Duty Diesel Engines including Euro V/VI Modern Low Emissions Vehicles, Utilizing Technologies such as Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), Continuously Regenerating Traps (CRT), Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC) and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR). • Heavy Duty Diesel Engines using low sulfur diesel fuels and many biodiesel fuel formulations. • Naturally Aspirated and Turbo-Charged Diesel Powered Equipment. • On-Highway Short-Haul and Long-Haul Trucks and Buses. Please refer to the owners handbook for OEM application requirements and oil drain intervals for your vehicle or equipment.

Performance & benefits

  • Protection against oil thickening, high temperature deposits, sludgeProvides capability for long drain intervals
  • Low ash, sulfur and phosphorous levelsHelps to protect exhaust systems devices like those fitted with DPF
  • Good low temperature propertiesHelps to improve pumpability and oil circulation

Standards & approvals

  • MTU Oil Category 3.1

MTU Oil Category 3.1 (low SAPS)

MTU's highest category in its low-SAPS form: a multigrade oil with under 1 % ash, approved only where the fuel carries less than 50 mg/kg sulphur. For engines with exhaust aftertreatment.

  • MAN M 3477

    MAN M 3477 — low-SAPS extended-drain oil

MAN's specification for synthetic low-SAPS extended-drain oils in Euro IV–VI engines with a particulate filter.

  • ACEA E6

    ACEA E6 oil sequence

ACEA's sequence for heavy-duty diesel engines with full exhaust aftertreatment. A low-SAPS level, ash capped to protect the particulate filter, at extended drain intervals. One of ACEA's current sequences.Source
