Mobil Delvac Modern 5W-20 Advanced Protection is an extra-high-performance diesel engine oil engineered to deliver outstanding protection and fuel-economy potential in modern, high-performance, low-emission engines used in severe on-highway applications. It is specifically designed to meet the latest MAN M 3977 and Scania LDF-5 requirements for modern diesel engines equipped with Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), using advanced synthetic-technology base oils that provide excellent low-temperature fluidity, high-temperature viscosity retention and volatility control while contributing to fuel-economy improvement. The oil is recommended for the latest generation of trucks and buses, on-highway light and heavy-duty trucking, and modern heavy-duty engines fitted with DPF in line with owner-manual recommendations; it is not suited to engines requiring older or other oil specifications. Its advanced additive system is engineered to help prolong the life and maintain the efficiency of emission-reduction systems such as the DPF. Key benefits include excellent protection against oil thickening, oil degradation, high-temperature deposits and sludge, supporting OEM-recommended oil drain intervals without compromising engine durability; advanced viscometrics with stay-in-grade shear stability that controls viscosity breakdown and oil consumption under heavy-duty, high-temperature conditions; and very low volatility for better control of oil consumption. Mobil Delvac Modern 5W-20 Advanced Protection carries an MAN M 3977 approval and meets or exceeds Scania LDF-5. It is an SAE 5W-20 grade with density 0.86 g/ml, viscosity 8.2 mm²/s at 100°C, sulfated ash 0.9 mass% and pour point -42°C.
