Mobilgard 540
BN 40 cylinder oil for crosshead marine engines running on 0.50 % sulphur fuels
SAE 50
Mobilgard 570 is a premium quality, high-performance marine diesel engine cylinder oil whose outstanding performance has been demonstrated at the elevated peak firing pressures and liner temperatures found in modern marine two-stroke engines. It has an optimum viscosity of over 20 cSt at 100°C and low volatility for excellent lubricant distribution and oil film retention, and its balanced formulation has demonstrated the ability to minimise cylinder oil feed rates while maintaining excellent cleanliness under sustained operation with fuel sulphur levels down to 1.5%. Mobilgard 570 carries approvals from Everllence (formerly MAN Energy Solutions) Category I for 2-stroke marine engines and WinGD Ltd. for general liquid fuel usage in 2-stroke marine engines, and meets or exceeds Japan Engine Corporation (heritage MHI) 2-stroke engine requirements, per manufacturers' latest operating guidelines. Benefits include excellent thermal and oxidation stability that can reduce deposits and sludge formation, outstanding detergency that leads to potentially cleaner engine components, and a balanced, low-volatility formulation that can lower feed rates and reduce cylinder oil consumption.
