Mobilgard 540 X is a premium quality, high-performance marine diesel engine cylinder oil designed to effectively lubricate across wide-ranging fuel applications, with demonstrated performance at the elevated peak firing pressures and liner temperatures of modern marine two-stroke engines running on residual fuel oil, distillate and LNG. Advanced formulation and detergency technologies combined with a low Base Number (BN) let it optimise cylinder oil feed rates while effectively managing acid neutralisation and deposit formation across a range of engine types and fuels; its low volatility ensures excellent lubricant distribution and oil film retention even at reduced feed rates. The oil is formulated to provide outstanding performance in marine crosshead engines operating on a wide variety of fuels, including continuous LNG use. Mobilgard 540 X combines high-quality, globally consistent base stocks with a superb additive formulation for exceptional deposit control under the increased temperatures and pressures typical of LNG operation, plus outstanding resistance to oxidation, acid formation and wear that can reduce component wear rates.
