Mobilgard 540 AC
Low-BN cylinder oil for two-stroke marine engines on low-sulphur fuels, LNG or methanol
SAE 50
Mobilgard 5145 is a premium quality, extra high performance, marine diesel engine cylinder oil whose outstanding performance has been demonstrated at the elevated peak firing pressures and liner temperatures found in modern marine two-stroke engines. It has an optimum viscosity of 20 cSt at 100°C and low volatility to ensure excellent lubricant distribution and oil film retention, and has demonstrated outstanding acid neutralisation, cleanliness and excellent ring and liner protection across a variety of operating conditions, including slow steaming, achieved with little or no use of bright stock, avoiding the deposit formation associated with poor thermal stability. Mobilgard 5145 carries approvals from Everllence (formerly MAN Energy Solutions) Category II for 2-stroke marine engines and WinGD Ltd. for general liquid fuel usage in 2-stroke marine engines, per manufacturers' latest operating guidelines. Benefits include excellent corrosion protection across newer, more demanding engine types and all operating modes including slow steaming, leading to lower feed rates; supreme thermal and oxidation stability for reduced deposits and sludge, and cleaner engines with lower component wear rates; exceptional anti-wear properties for reduced liner and ring wear and excellent anti-scuffing control; and outstanding detergency for cleaner pistons and liners, helping extend periods between overhauls.
