Mobilgard 540 AC is a premium quality, high-performance two-stroke marine diesel engine cylinder oil, granted Category II status by MAN Energy Solutions (Everllence) and Dual Fuel/LNG validation by Winterthur Gas & Diesel (WinGD). Using advanced formulation and detergency technologies combined with a low Base Number (BN), it delivers advanced cleanliness and wear protection while optimising cylinder oil feed rates and managing acid neutralisation across a range of engines and fuels, including all MAN ES two-stroke engines on <0.50%S fuels, LNG, ethane, methanol and LPG, and all WinGD, Wärtsilä and Sulzer two-stroke engines on <1.50%S fuels, LNG and methanol. It is formulated for optimal lubrication at the elevated peak firing pressures and liner temperatures of modern marine two-stroke engines, and can be combined with the Mobil Cylinder Condition Monitoring service to help operators track oil condition in real time and optimise feed rates while maintaining excellent lubrication. It is approved for continuous LNG use and for engines running on methanol, distillate and very low sulphur fuel oils, with additional MAN ES approval for ethane operation. Mobilgard 540 AC combines high-quality, globally consistent base stocks with a superior additive formulation for outstanding detergency, resistance to oxidation and acid formation, and excellent deposit control under the increased temperatures and pressures typical of LNG fuel operation, giving vessel operators a single-product solution across multiple fuel types.

Applications

• Mobilgard 540 AC is formulated to provide outstanding performance in marine crosshead engines operating on a wide variety of fuel applications, including continuous LNG use. This exceptional cylinder oil has been approved by MAN ES and WinGD for application to all their two-stroke engines operating on LNG, Methanol, Distillate and Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFOs). Additionally it has received MAN ES approval for their two-stroke engines operating on ethane.
