Manufacturer's description

Mobilgard ADL Series oils (ADL 30 and ADL 40) are designed for high Brake Mean Effective Pressure (BMEP) medium- and high-speed diesel engines operating on distillate fuels. Their balanced formulation combats lacquer formation and deposits in severe service applications, and superior load-carrying properties minimise piston ring and liner wear while also suiting marine gearing applications. The series is intended for high-BMEP and severe duty engines where fuel and service conditions demand greater detergency/dispersancy and liner lacquer control than most diesel engine lubricants offer. It has demonstrated superior performance in engines from MAN Energy Solutions (Everllence) Augsburg, Caterpillar (3600 and C280 Series), Deutz and Wärtsilä, delivering dramatically reduced oil consumption, significantly reduced liner lacquering and extended periods between overhauls in extensive field testing, alongside excellent water separation and rust/corrosion resistance. Approvals and recommendations span Anglo Belgian Corporation dual-fuel and distillate engines, Caterpillar/MaK 4-stroke medium speed diesel engines, Everllence 28/33D engines, GE Transportation GE16V250, MTU Oil Category 2, Ortlinghaus-Werke ON 9.2.10, Wärtsilä 4-stroke medium speed and Vasa engines, and ZF TE-ML 04B, plus ACEA E2, Allison C-4, API CF/SF and MAN 270, depending on grade. Key benefits include superior wear protection, enhanced detergency/dispersancy, stay-in-grade shear stability, high TBN levels, and broad applicability as a single severe-service lubricant across shipboard engines.

Applications

  • Mobilgard ADL Series lubricants are intended for use in high BMEP engines and in severe duty engine applications where the nature of the fuel and service requires a greater level of detergency/dispersancy and liner lacquer control than is offered by most diesel engine lubricants.

Performance & benefits

  • Superior wear protectionExtends the life of critical wear surfaces
  • Enhanced detergency/dispersancyReduced deposits especially in the ring belt area which leads to extended cylinder overhauls and reduced oil
  • capabilityconsumption
  • Stay-in-grade shear stabilityReduced oil consumption and improved bearing protection
  • High TBN levelsPrevents corrosive wear due to higher sulphur fuels
  • Broad range of engine applicationsOne severe service engine lubricant for all shipboard applications
