Manufacturer's description

Divinol Hypoid-Getriebeöl 85W-140 (Art. No. 51980) is a multigrade hypoid gear oil designed for heavily loaded hypoid gears operating under extreme conditions. Its high oxidation stability keeps the oil in good condition over long service, while its EP (extreme-pressure) additives build a stable lubricating film that reduces abrasion even under the highest loading of the tooth profiles and at high sliding shares. It is used mainly for heavily loaded hypoid gears with extreme operating conditions and is an ideal gear oil for the differentials and equalizing gears of rear axles. Divinol Hypoid-Getriebeöl 85W-140 meets API GL-5 and MIL-L-2105 D and covers the performance requirements of MAN 342 M1, MB-Approval 235.0, Renault GL-5, Voith 3.325-339, Volvo 97310 / 97316 and ZF TE-ML 07A, 08, 16B/C/D, 17B, 19B, 21A.

Applications

  • Used mainly for heavy loaded hypoid gear with extreme operating conditions. An ideal gear oil for differential and equalizing gears in rear axles.

Performance & benefits

  • Multigrade hypoid gear oil with high oxidation stability. Its EP-additives offer a stable oil film and reduce abrasion even under highest loading of the tooth profiles and high slide share

Standards & approvals

  • API GL-5

Gear oil, API GL-5 service level

API's service designation for axle and manual transmission oils.

  • API MIL-L-2105 D

    API GL-5 / MIL-L-2105D — EP axle oil

The performance level for extreme-pressure hypoid axle oils defined by the US military specification MIL-L-2105D, in practice equivalent to API GL-5.

  • MIL-L-2105 D

MIL-L-2105D — EP gear and axle oil

The US military specification for extreme-pressure gear oils, in practice equivalent to API GL-5. Superseded by MIL-PRF-2105E and then SAE J2360.

  • MAN 342 M1

    MAN 342 type M1 — axle oil

MAN's list of axle oils; type M1 covers mineral hypoid oils at standard drain intervals.

  • MB-Approval 235.0

    Mercedes-Benz approval 235.0

    A Mercedes-Benz operating-fluid approval (BeVo sheet).

  • Renault GL-5

Renault, API GL-5 level — axle oil

Renault's requirement that the axle oil be at the API GL-5 level, that is, a hypoid oil with extreme-pressure additives.

  • Voith 3.325-339

Voith 3.325-339 — retarder and transmission oil

The Voith list of oils approved for its own bus and truck transmissions and retarders.
