Manufacturer's description

Cat DEO-ULS (Ultra Low Sulfur) SAE 10W-30 is a premium API CK-4 heavy-duty diesel engine oil, uniquely formulated and optimized to provide the highest level of protection and performance across a wide range of engine applications, including those requiring aftertreatment systems. It exceeds API CK-4 performance requirements, is backward compatible with prior API oil categories (CJ-4, CI-4, CI-4 PLUS and CH-4), and can be used in all engines requiring API CK-4 or a prior API diesel engine oil category (consult the OMM). Improved oxidation and thermal stability minimize engine deposits and maintain consistent protection through the drain interval; reduced aeration improves protection against oil breakdown, cavitation and corrosion; improved shear properties maintain viscosity under high loads; and specially designed additives with a superior base stock deliver longer engine protection and durability while supporting consistent emissions performance. Typical 10W-30 characteristics include flash point 218°C, pour point -36°C, kinematic viscosity 82 cSt at 40°C and 12.0 cSt at 100°C, HTHS at 150°C of 3.6 cP, viscosity index 142, phosphorous 0.10% wt., sulfur 0.24% wt., zinc 0.12% wt., sulfated ash 0.90% wt., TBN 8.7 and density 0.868 @ 15.6°C. Cat DEO-ULS exceeds Cat ECF-3, ECF-2 and ECF-1A performance levels, and may be used where ACEA E9, Detroit Diesel DFS 93K222, Cummins CES 20086 or Volvo Mack VDS STD 417-003 is required. It meets requirements for engines with aftertreatment devices needing API CK-4 or CJ-4 oil, including Tier 4 (US), Stage IIIB/IV (EU), 2007/2010 on-highway US exhaust emissions standards and Japan 2014. Distributed in Romania by Bergerat Monnoyeur.

Applications

  • - Cat oils are formulated to provide optimal performance and engine protection for all Caterpillar engines and up to 3500* engine models operating under all conditions and severity and in all applications - Ideal for mixed fleets and for on-highway heavy duty trucks - Meets requirements for engines with aftertreatment devices requiring API CK-4 or CJ-4 diesel engine oil - Tier 4 (US) - Stage IIIB/IV (EU) - 2007/2010 on-highway exhaust emissions standards (US) - Japan 2014 - Backwards compatible with prior API categories - API CJ-4, CI-4, CI-4 PLUS, and CH-4

Performance & benefits

  • Minimized Engine DepositsImproved oxidation and thermal stability minimizes engine deposits and provides consistent protection throughout the oil drain interval
  • Reduced AerationReduced aeration results in improved protection against oil breakdown, cavitation and corrosion
  • Improved Shear PropertiesImproved shear properties allow the oil to maintain a consistent viscosity under high loads, providing better lubrication and protection for moving components
  • Longer ProtectionSpecially designed additives and superior base stock deliver optimal engine protection and durability while supporting consistent emissions performance
