Manufacturer's description

Wyrol BG grades consist of a synthetic base oil combined with specially selected additives to provide good oxidation stability and rust prevention. They are recommended for flood and mist spray bearing systems and gearbox units in rolling mills, and their low staining tendency makes them particularly suitable for aluminium rolling mills. Should small quantities leak into the roll oil, they are effectively removed by active earth filters, preventing brown staining of rolled aluminium during annealing. Wyrol BG grades are not miscible with conventional bearing and gearbox lubricants, so transitioning to Wyrol BG requires specialist advice and a carefully managed changeover procedure. Available in ISO VG 220 and 320 grades, they offer excellent load-carrying capacity for effective lubrication of heavily loaded bearings and gearboxes. Benefits include low staining properties that reduce production rejects, extended roll oil life contributing to overall process efficiency, cost reduction in the rolling process, suitability for a wide temperature range, and exceptional load-carrying ability and wear protection that minimise bearing wear, applicable to both flood and mist spray systems.

Applications

  • Wyrol BG grades are recommended for use in flood and mist spray bearing systems and gearbox units in rolling mills. Due to their low staining tendency, they are particularly suitable for aluminum rolling mills. The excellent load-carrying capacity of Wyrol BG ensures effective lubrication for heavily loaded bearings and gearboxes. If the products leak in small quantities into the roll oil, they are effectively removed by active earth filters, thereby preventing any contribution to brown staining of rolled aluminum during annealing.

Performance & benefits

  • Wyrol BG grades are not miscible with conventional bearing and gearbox lubricants. Therefore, transitioning from a conventional lubricant to Wyrol BG requires specialist advice, and the changeover procedures must be carried out very carefully to fully realize the benefits of Wyrol BG. Low staining properties reduce the potential for production rejects. Extends roll oil life, contributing to overall efficiency. Reduces costs in the rolling process. Suitable for a wide temperature range. Exceptional load-carrying ability and wear protection minimize bearing wear. Applicable for both flood and mist spray applications.
