Manufacturer's description

Mobil DTE PM Excel 320 is the ISO VG 320 grade of ExxonMobil's multi-functional paper machine oil, used in wet end, dry end, press section and calender circulation oil systems, including Voith and Metso (Valmet) paper machines. It is formulated with select high-quality base oils and a proprietary advanced-technology additive system, carefully balanced for high performance standards and maximum protection of gears and bearings operating under severe conditions. This heavier grade is suited to circulation systems operating over a wide temperature range and systems that must start up and come on-line quickly, lubricating gears and bearings throughout the machine. It delivers excellent anti-wear protection across various component metallurgy, ultra keep-clean properties that reduce system deposits and sludge, and exceptional thermal and oxidation stability that supports long oil and filter life while reducing maintenance downtime and costs. Mobil DTE PM Excel 320 is recommended per Voith Paper VS 108 sections 5.3.2 (dry end) and 5.3.5 (shoe press) and Valmet Paper RAU4L00659_06 and RAUAH02724_02_EN_V oil recommendations, and meets DIN 51517-3:2018-09 requirements, offering high-level rust and corrosion protection that helps improve production capacity.

Applications

  • • Lubrication of the wet end, press section, calender applications and dry end, including in Voith and Metso (Valmet) paper machines • Application involving circulation systems operating over a wide temperature range • Systems that must be started and brought on line quickly • Circulation systems' lubricating gears and bearings

Performance & benefits

  • Mobil DTE PM Excel has the following potential benefits: • Excellent anti-wear protection of bearings and gears of system components using various metallurgy help extend component life • Ultra keep clean properties reduce system deposits and sludge help protect equipment and extend equipment life, which can reduce maintenance costs and improve total system performance • Exceptional thermal / oxidation stability help reduce maintenance downtime and costs by contributing to system cleanliness and deposit reduction, which can enable long oil and filter life • Meets wide range of equipment requirements which helps avoid risk of misapplication and enable potential inventory reduction • High level rust and corrosion protection which can help improve production capacity

Standards & approvals

  • Voith Paper VS 108 5.3.2 2023-04 (dry end)

Voith Paper VS 108 5.3.2 — paper machine dry end

The section of the Voith Paper standard covering lubricants for the dryer section, where the oil works beside steam-heated cylinders at high temperature.

  • DIN 51517-3:2018-09

    Industrial gear oil :2018-09 — DIN 51517, part 3

The 2018 issue of part 3, which added paint and seal compatibility requirements and a stricter micropitting threshold.
