Manufacturer's description

Mobil SHC™ PM Series products are superior-performance synthetic lubricants specifically designed for the most demanding industrial paper machine circulating systems, providing outstanding protection of gears and bearings operating under severe conditions. Very low pour points and a naturally high viscosity index ensure good low-temperature start-up while maintaining excellent viscosity control at very high temperatures, and the fluids remain shear-stable even under the heavy mechanical shear found in loaded bearings and gears. Selected synthetic base oils combined with a balanced additive system give the series exceptional thermal/oxidative resistance, allowing the higher steam pressures, temperatures and machine speeds typical of high-output paper machines and calendar rolls. Outstanding hydrolytic stability and filterability assure reliable performance in the presence of water and retain effective filtration even at fine filtration levels, while the fluids readily separate water and retain their colour characteristics under severe conditions — reducing filter and maintenance costs, and providing strong rust and corrosion protection, including in vapour spaces above wetted surfaces. Mobil SHC PM Series is recommended for severe industrial paper machine circulating systems, wide-temperature circulation applications such as calendar rolls, systems requiring quick start-up and rapid bring-online, and circulation systems lubricating gears and bearings, and is offered in ISO VG 150, 220, 320 and 460 grades.

Applications

  • • Lubrication of severe industrial paper machine circulating systems • Application involving circulation systems operating over a wide temperature range such as calendar rolls • Systems that must be started and brought on line quickly • Circulation systems lubricating gears and bearings
