Mobiltemp SHC Series products are supreme-performance anti-wear greases primarily intended for high-temperature applications, combining polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic base fluids with an organo-clay, non-soap thickener. The PAO base offers excellent resistance to thermal and oxidative degradation, while the clay thickener provides excellent high-temperature structural stability and a high dropping point. The wax-free, high-viscosity-index synthetic base also gives superior low-temperature lubrication and excellent film protection at high temperatures, plus potential energy savings from reduced friction and lower torque. The series comprises three products: Mobiltemp SHC 32 (NLGI 1½, ISO VG 32) for sealed or re-packable ball and roller bearings, splines, screws and enclosed gearing across -50°C to 180°C; Mobiltemp SHC 100 (NLGI 1½, ISO VG 100) for high-speed and thrust bearings, particularly suited to electric motor bearings, across -50°C to 200°C; and Mobiltemp SHC 460 Special (NLGI ½, ISO VG 460), fortified with molybdenum disulphide for sliding elements such as cams and ways, and for oven-conveyor or kiln bearings, across -40°C to 180°C. All grades deliver outstanding high- and low-temperature performance, excellent oxidation resistance and structural retention, low coefficient of traction, and outstanding low-temperature pumpability, and Mobiltemp SHC 32 meets DIN 51825:2004-06 KP HC 1-2 K -50.

Applications

• Mobiltemp SHC greases offer excellent high temperature grease life, bearing protection and grease integrity along with excellent low temperature capability and good wear protection. Specific applications include: For Mobiltemp SHC 32 • Sealed or re-packable ball and roller bearings • Splines, screws and some enclosed gearing • Extreme temperature applications with a recommended operating temperature range of -50º C to 180º C (with appropriate relubrication intervals). For Mobiltemp SHC 100 • High speed bearings and thrust bearings where a wide temperature range is desired • It is particularly suitable for use in electric motor bearings where operating conditions demand reduced friction, low wear and long service life • Extreme temperature applications with a recommended operating temperature range of -50º C to 200º C (with appropriate relubrication intervals). For Mobiltemp SHC 460 Special • The presence of molybdenum disulphide makes it particularly suitable for the lubrication of sliding machine elements such as cams and ways, which are subject to long relubrication intervals, limited motion or shock loading. • Oven conveyor or kiln bearings which are subject to high temperatures or cycling between high and normal temperatures • Extreme temperature applications with a recommended operating temperature range of -40º C to 180º C (with appropriate relubrication intervals).
