Mobil Polyrex 461 EP is a shear-stable polyurea grease with excellent extreme-pressure (EP) and load-carrying characteristics. Its proprietary polyurea thickener system provides excellent resistance to oxidation and oil separation at operating temperatures as high as 170°C, giving outstanding high-temperature oxidation stability, load-carrying capability, shear stability and water resistance across a recommended operating range of -20°C to 170°C. The grease meets the claim of DIN 51825:2004-06 KPF 1 P -20. A proprietary extreme-pressure package with solid additives delivers load-carrying capability without degrading thermal stability at high temperature, providing wear and EP protection up to 170°C without rapid oxidation of the anti-wear or EP additives, aided by very good anti-oxidation protection from the advanced polyurea thickener. Its NLGI 1 consistency gives excellent pumpability in centralised grease systems and long distribution lines, with mobility down to 0°C and, depending on system design, performance stretching to -20°C. Effective water resistance keeps the grease in place and protects bearings against corrosion in the presence of water. Mobil Polyrex 461 EP is suitable for medium to slow speed plain or roller bearings exposed to high temperatures, severe load and shock loading, in industrial applications such as steel mill continuous casters and roll mills, wood pellet mills, and cement, glass, mining and chemical plant equipment.
