Mobilgear XMP Series are extra high performance industrial gear oils based on high quality mineral base stocks and an advanced proprietary additive system, designed to provide optimum equipment protection and oil life even under extreme conditions. They offer excellent protection against conventional wear modes such as scuffing, a high level of resistance against micropitting fatigue, and the potential for improved lubrication of gearbox rolling element bearings. These oils are recommended for enclosed industrial gear drives, including steel-on-steel spur, helical and bevel gears, and are especially suited to applications subject to micropitting, such as heavily loaded gearboxes with surface-hardened tooth metallurgies, as well as applications with severe corrosion exposure. Typical uses include wind turbines, plastic extruder gearboxes, and gearboxes in the paper, steel, oil, textile, lumber and cement industries. Key benefits include outstanding rust and corrosion protection versus conventional gear oils (including seawater and acidic water), no tendency to plug fine filters even when wet, and excellent compatibility with ferrous and non-ferrous metals at elevated temperatures. Depending on grade, Mobilgear XMP oils carry Hansen, Jahnel-Kestermann and ZF TE-ML 04H approvals, and meet or exceed AGMA 9005-F16 and ISO L-CKC / L-CKD (ISO 12925-1:2024) requirements, across the ISO VG 150 to 680 grade range.
