Manufacturer's description

Mobilgear 600 XP Series is a range of extra high performance gear oils with outstanding extreme pressure characteristics and load-carrying properties, intended for all types of enclosed gear drives with circulation or splash lubrication. Formulated to keep pace with the trend toward smaller, higher power-density gearboxes, the series protects gear teeth against early-stage micropitting and exceeds industry bearing wear protection requirements, delivering up to 15 times the wear protection measured by the FAG FE 8 industry standard test. Its balanced formulation provides maximum wear and corrosion protection while remaining compatible with common gearbox seal materials, helping maintain seal integrity, prevent leaks and keep out contamination. Key benefits include reduced debris denting from wear particles (up to 22% bearing life improvement), excellent resistance to oil oxidation, thermal degradation, sludge and deposit formation, optimized rust and corrosion protection for steel and soft metal alloys, and resistance to foaming and emulsion formation. Recommended for industrial spur, helical, bevel and worm gearing operating at bulk oil temperatures up to 100°C — including conveyors, agitators, dryers, extruders, fans, mixers, presses, pulpers and pumps — as well as marine gearing (main propulsion, deck machinery, winches, cranes, pumps, elevators) and non-gear applications such as heavily loaded, slow-speed plain and rolling contact bearings. Available across ISO VG 68 to 680 grades, the series carries approvals including Flender, Renk, SEW-Eurodrive, ZF TE-ML 04F/04H/27 and Bundeswehr TL 9159-0105, and meets AGMA 9005-F16, DIN 51517-3/-4, China GB 5903-2011 and ISO 12925-1:2024 (L-CKC/CKD/CKSMP) requirements, with a Timken OK Load of 65 lb and FZG scuffing fail load stage of 12+ across grades.

Applications

  • Mobilgear 600 XP lubricants are used in a wide range of industrial and marine applications, especially spur, helical, bevel and worm gearing. Specific applications include: • Industrial gearing for conveyers, agitators, dryers, extruders, fans, mixers, presses, pulpers, pumps (including oil well pumps), screens, extruders and other heavy duty applications • Marine gearing including main propulsion, centrifuges, deck machinery such as winches, windlasses, cranes, turning gears, pumps, elevators and rudder carriers • Non-gear applications include shaft couplings, screws and heavily loaded plain and rolling contact bearings operating at slow speeds.

Performance & benefits

  • Enhanced gear wear protection from micropitting Reduced debris denting from generated wear particlesLess gear and bearing wear resulting in less unexpected downtime Up to 22% improvement in bearing life reducing bearing replacement costs and improving productivity
