High-performance hydraulic fluids based on Group II base oil, for versatile applications. Shell Tellus S2 VX fluids are high-performance hydraulic fluids based on Group II base oils that deliver outstanding protection and performance across a wide temperature range. They resist degradation under demanding temperature and mechanical stress conditions and are ideal for most mobile equipment and other applications subject to a wide range of operating temperatures.
Applications
Mobile / exterior hydraulic systemsSystems using hydraulic and power transmission fluids exposed to the environment are subject to temperature variations. The high viscosity index of Tellus S2 VX helps maintain performance under cold start, high load and arduous operating conditions.
Precision hydraulic systemsPrecision hydraulic systems demand excellent viscosity control throughout the operating cycle. Shell Tellus S2 VX offers greater temperature-viscosity stability compared with ISO HM fluids, which helps improve the performance of these systems.
Marine hydraulic systemsSuitable for marine applications where ISO HV category hydraulic fluids are recommended. Specifications, approvals and recommendations: the product is formulated to meet:
ASTM D6158 (HV fluids)For the full list of equipment approvals and recommendations, we recommend consulting the Shell Technical Helpdesk. Compatibility and miscibility
CompatibilityShell Tellus S2 VX fluids are compatible with most types of hydraulic pump
Fluid compatibilityShell Tellus S2 VX fluids are compatible with most mineral oil based hydraulic fluids. However, hydraulic fluids must not be mixed with other fluid types (e.g. environmentally acceptable or fire-resistant fluids).
Compatible with seal materials and paintsShell Tellus S2 VX fluids are compatible with the seal materials and paints normally specified for use with mineral oils.
