Mobil Pyrotec HFC 46 is a water-glycol hydraulic fluid technology offering improved fire resistance while protecting equipment under severe service conditions. It is designed particularly for hydraulic systems using vane, gear and piston pumps, such as those found in the steel, aluminium and die-casting industries, and is very shear stable, offering enhanced corrosion resistance, seal compatibility and pump lubrication that can help extend equipment service life. The fluid is recommended for hydraulic systems using vane, gear and piston pumps, and for hydraulic and oil circulation systems operating in conditions subject to fire hazards. It provides inherent resistance to fire hazards, excellent anti-wear properties that help extend component life, and long fluid life thanks to high oxidation resistance. Mobil Pyrotec HFC 46 is FM approved as a fire-resistant industrial fluid (FM Global Approvals Class 6930) and meets ISO L-HFC (ISO 12922:2020). Typical properties include ISO VG 46 grade, viscosity of 46 cSt at 40°C, viscosity index 195, pour point of -50°C, and a copper corrosion rating of 1B (24 h at 50°C, ISO 2160).
