Manufacturer's description

Divinol HVLPD ISO 68 (Art-Nr. 48920) is a detergent/dispersive high-pressure hydraulic oil with a high viscosity index. The high viscosity index keeps the working viscosity within a usable band over a wide temperature range, which makes the oil suitable for a broad field of applications and particularly for hydraulic systems whose operating temperature fluctuates strongly. The detergent-dispersant additive package is what sets an HVLPD oil apart from a plain HVLP one: it holds small amounts of water and solid contamination in suspension instead of letting them settle out, so deposits and corrosion in the system are reduced where water ingress cannot be ruled out. The oil should still not be used as a substitute for proper water separation in systems designed for it. Divinol HVLPD ISO 68 meets DIN 51524-3, HVLP-D (except for the demulsification behaviour, which an HVLPD oil is not intended to provide), AFNOR NF-E 48603, ASLE 70-1/70-2/70-3, David Brown S1.53.101, VDMA 24318, U.S. Steel 126/127, CETOP RP91H, Vickers I-286-S3, Vickers M-2950-S and Denison Hydraulics HF-2.

Applications

  • High-pressure hydraulic systems across a wide field of applications, especially mobile and outdoor equipment with strongly fluctuating operating temperatures and where water ingress cannot be excluded.

Performance & benefits

  • high viscosity index — usable working viscosity over a wide temperature range
  • detergent-dispersant additive package holds water and solid contamination in suspension
  • reduced deposit formation and corrosion where water ingress occurs
  • high-pressure (EP) performance to DIN 51524-3

Standards & approvals

  • AFNOR NF E 48603

    NF E 48-603 — hydraulic fluids (France)

The French standard for mineral hydraulic fluids, built on the same HL, HM and HV classes as DIN 51524 and ISO 11158.

  • David Brown S1.53 101 level

David Brown S1.53.101 level — EP gear oil

David Brown's specification for extreme-pressure gear oils in open and enclosed drives under heavy and shock loading. It overlaps DIN 51517-3 CLP and U.S. Steel 224.

  • VDMA 24318

    VDMA 24318 — fire-resistant hydraulic fluids

The VDMA sheet of the German machine builders' association for fire-resistant hydraulic fluids: fire behaviour and system material compatibility requirements.

  • Vickers M-2950-S

Vickers M-2950-S — mobile hydraulic fluids

The Vickers specification for hydraulic fluids in mobile equipment, superseded by Eaton 03-401-2010.

  • Denison Hydraulics HF-2

Parker Denison HF-2 — hydraulic fluid

The HF-2 level of the Denison specification, defined by the vane pump wear test. It is the base requirement for hydraulic oils in Denison equipment.
