Cat HYDO Advanced 30 complements Cat HYDO Advanced 10, combining premium additives with specially selected, controlled higher-quality base oils to provide extended drain intervals and extra protection to hydraulic system components. Caterpillar developed the formulation through severe qualification testing in the field and laboratory over thousands of hours, describing Cat HYDO Advanced 30 and 10 together as a significant performance breakthrough in hydraulic oil technology. Cat HYDO Advanced 30 is specifically formulated for working in consistently hot climates, with temperatures above 40°C (104°F). Caterpillar's ambient operating temperature guidance places Cat HYDO Advanced 30 from 10°C minimum to 50°C maximum (50°F to 122°F), compared with -5°C to 45°C for Cat HYDO Advanced 20 and -20°C to 40°C for Cat HYDO Advanced 10. Typical values from the Cat technical data sheet include a viscosity of 90 cSt at 40°C and 10.6 cSt at 100°C, a viscosity index of 100, a pour point of -24°C, a pass on rust protection (ASTM D665B) and oxidation stability of more than 5,000 hours (ASTM D943).
