Shell Rimula R3 adapts to drivers' needs to provide additional protection. It features an active detergent system designed to keep pistons and other engine parts clean, provides protection against wear and thereby extends engine life, and also protects against deposits to maintain engine efficiency.
Applications
Proven diesel engine performanceShell Rimula R3 monograde oils have been designed to maximise engine performance across a wide range of applications, in stationary vehicles or in older on-highway diesel engines.
Construction industry applicationsEngine oil technology is sometimes recommended for hydraulic and transmission applications. Shell Rimula R3 monograde oils deliver superior performance and ensure the reliability of these applications.
The use of Shell Rimula R3 monograde oils is appropriate for stationary equipment, such as pumps in continuous operation in a stable environment. Shell Rimula R3+ 40 is suitable for use with biodiesel at the oil drain intervals recommended by the OEM. Compatibility and miscibility: Shell Rimula R3 must not be used in Detroit Diesel two-stroke engines. An SAE 40 oil to API CF-II specification with a sulphated ash content below 1% should be used.

MAN 270
MAN 270 — monograde engine oil (obsolete)
MAN's old specification for monograde truck engine oils. Withdrawn, but still quoted on datasheets for older fleets.
ACEA E2
ACEA E2 oil sequence
ACEA's sequence for heavy-duty diesel engines without exhaust aftertreatment. An earlier sequence, no longer on ACEA's current list; it remains the level specified for the engines of its era.Source
