A special application for ethylene gas compressors. Shell Gas Compressor S3 PY lubricants are synthetic blends designed for total-loss cylinder lubrication in hypercompressors, in the manufacture of low-density polyethylene (LDPE), including LDPE used in special applications such as food, pharmaceutical and cable insulation products, and of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA). The low rate in the case of food contact and the high-quality components help ensure minimal impact on polymer production quality.

Applications

• High-pressure hypercompressorsShell Gas Compressor S3 PY oils have been used extensively in hypercompressor applications for over 10 years. The ISO 220 viscosity grade offers the lowest rate for low oil content in the final polymer, but requires the use of high temperatures for the heating line.
• Food industry applicationsShell Gas Compressor S3 PY lubricants meet the US FDA requirements for incidental food contact.
• Pharmaceutical applicationsThe oils are suitable for use in polymer manufacture, in applications where they will come into contact with pharmaceutical products.
