Mobil Slideway Oil Ultra is a range of high-quality slideway lubricants formulated from premium base stocks and an advanced additive system, designed for the lubrication of linear motion guides, ball screws and slideways of high-precision machine tools and metalworking equipment. The additive package delivers controlled frictional properties on a wide variety of way materials, including steel-on-steel and steel-on-polymer combinations, reducing stick-slip and chatter for smooth, uniform travel and improved machining accuracy. The oils are engineered with strong adhesiveness to resist wash-away by coolant, helping to avoid abnormal noise, increased sliding resistance and loss of machining accuracy, while also providing outstanding separability from aqueous coolants to extend coolant life. Long-term rust and corrosion protection safeguards sliding surfaces exposed to water-based fluids, and the multi-material capability allows a single product to be used across different way-material combinations, supporting product consolidation. Mobil Slideway Oil Ultra has been tested and optimized for compatibility with Mobil Vactra Oil Numbered Series. Available in ISO VG 68 and 220 grades, it meets requirements including China GB 11118.1-2011 L-HG, DIN 51502:1990-08 CGLP, ISO L-GA and L-GB (ISO 6743-13:2002), and Fives Cincinnati P-47 (VG 68) / P-50 (VG 220). Typical properties include flash points of 245-255°C and pour points of -12°C.
Applications
- Mobil Slideway Oil Ultra are recommended for the lubrication of machine tool slideway systems. They are designed for use with combinations of cast iron, steel and non-metallic way materials. Mobil Slideway Oil Ultra may be applied by hand, forced-feed lubricator or in flood application by circulation system. • Recommended for horizontal slideways on small to medium size machine tools in high precision applications. It is also suitable for circulating application in large machines and as a moderate duty hydraulic fluid. • Can be used for lubrication of ball screws, linear guides, headstocks, translating screws. • Recommended for applications where oil contamination of the aqueous coolants shortens coolant batch life.
