Manufacturer's description

Mobil Paper Machine Oil S Series lubricants are high-performance synthetic oils specifically designed for demanding industrial paper machine circulating systems, engineered to deliver lubrication characteristics not attainable with conventional premium mineral oils. Built on synthesized hydrocarbon base oil technology with a carefully balanced proprietary additive system, the series provides excellent protection of gears and bearings under severe operating conditions. Available in ISO VG 150, 220 and 320 grades, these oils combine a very low pour point with a naturally high viscosity index, ensuring good low-temperature start-up while maintaining excellent viscosity at very high temperatures. Their low traction coefficient and high VI can help lower energy consumption and reduce component operating temperatures, permitting the higher steam pressures, temperatures and machine speeds common in high-output paper machines and calendar rolls. Outstanding hydrolytic stability and filterability assure reliable performance in the presence of water, with effective water separation and long-term colour retention supporting visual flow monitoring. The series is recognised in Valmet Paper RAU4L00659_06 and RAUAH02725_00 oil recommendations and multiple Voith Paper VS 108 sections (wet end, dry end, off-line coaters, hydraulic roll, shoe press, winder), and delivers excellent wear protection, outstanding oxidation and thermal stability, and effective water separation that extends maintenance intervals and equipment life.

Applications

  • Lubrication of severe industrial paper machine circulating systems Application involving circulation systems operating over a wide temperature range Circulation systems lubricating gears and bearings Mobil Paper Machine Oil S is particularly applicable for machines where it is essential for excellent colour stability to visually monitor the oil flow rate through flow meters.
