Prowax 411 is a low-range melting point product in the Prowax line of petroleum slack and scale waxes. It is a translucent crystalline material in the solid state and a straw yellow-to-amber, clear liquid when molten, derived from petroleum via a carefully controlled refining process. Prowax 411 is comprised of a mixture of straight-chain normal paraffin and branched iso-paraffin hydrocarbons, and is produced and controlled according to the ExxonMobil Product Quality Management System, EN ISO 9000 or equivalent standard. Typical applications, subject to applicable laws and regulations in each jurisdiction, include candle wax blends, wax emulsions and wax blends. Typical properties include a melting point of 51.0-56.0°C (ASTM D87), kinematic viscosity of 3.5-4.5 mm²/s at 100°C, oil content up to 5.0 wt% (ASTM D721), ASTM colour by auto tristimulus up to 1.0 (ASTM D6045), and a flash point (Cleveland Open Cup, ASTM D92) of at least 204°C.
