Manufacturer's description
Prowax 390 is a high-range melting point product in the Prowax line of petroleum slack and scale waxes. It is a translucent crystalline material in the solid state and a yellow, clear liquid when molten, derived from petroleum via a carefully controlled refining process and primarily comprised of a mixture of straight-chain normal paraffin and branched iso-paraffin hydrocarbons. ExxonMobil waxes are produced and controlled according to the ExxonMobil Product Quality Management System, EN ISO 9000 or equivalent standard. Typical applications, subject to applicable laws and regulations in each jurisdiction, include firelogs, wax emulsions and wax blends. Typical properties include a congealing point of 68.0-81.0°C (ASTM D938), kinematic viscosity of 16.0-20.5 mm²/s at 100°C, oil content up to 5.0 wt% (ASTM D721), ASTM colour by auto tristimulus up to 6.0 (ASTM D6045), and a flash point (Cleveland Open Cup, ASTM D92) of at least 232°C.
Applications
- Prowax 390 can be used in the following applications subject to applicable laws and regulations in each jurisdiction*: • Firelogs • Wax emulsions • Wax blends * User must check compliance with applicable regulations
