Manufacturer's description
Paraffin 118-122 produced by Eni is a fully refined paraffin wax, obtained by modern refining of selected crude oil streams. It is a translucent white, non-tacky hard wax: free of impurities, with an oil content below 0.65% by weight, insoluble in water and in acids, poorly reactive at room temperature, a good moisture barrier and a poor conductor of heat and electricity. The name is the melting range in °F; two further grades are made, 122-126 and 133-137. It is used as a raw material for candles, polishes and pastels; as an auxiliary component in wax blends, rubbers, plastics, emulsions and adhesives; and as an additive that improves paper, board, cable and electrical conduit.
Applications
- Raw material in production of several finished products: candles, polishes and pastels.
- Auxiliary components in different manufactured processes: wax blends, rubbers, plastics, emulsions and adhesives.
- Additive improving characteristics of the materials: papers, cartons, cables and electrical conduits.
