Manufacturer's description
Mobil SHC™ Chain 240 is an exceptional-performance synthetic chain lubricant designed for high-temperature conveyor chains operating at temperatures up to 290°C (555°F). It provides excellent wear protection along with strong resistance to evaporation, thermo-oxidation and coke formation, going beyond the capabilities of conventional chain lubricants. The product helps protect chains, sprockets and other system components from wear, reduces deposit formation that can cause chain sticking, and provides lasting lubrication at very high temperatures, resulting in lower lubricant consumption compared with conventional chain oils and extended equipment life at reduced maintenance cost. Mobil SHC Chain 240 is designed specifically for oven conveyor chains and is suitable for high-temperature chain applications in fiberglass insulation manufacture, particleboard (OSB/MSB) production, plastics and textile manufacture, and paint oven operations. Typical properties include a viscosity in the ISO VG 220 class (245 mm²/s at 40°C), a flash point of 290°C and a pour point of -24°C.
Applications
- Mobil SHC Chain 240 is designed specifically for the lubrication of oven conveyor chains at temperatures up to 290ºC (555⁰ F). It is suitable for high temperature chain applications in: • Fiber glass insulation manufacture • Particleboard (OSB , MSB) manufacture • Plastics and textiles manufacture • Paint oven operations
Performance & benefits
- Mobil SHC Chain 240 helps to: • Provide a degree of equipment protection beyond the capabilities of conventional chain lubricants • Provide extra reassurance of trouble-free equipment protection at very high temperatures • Extend equipment life, reduce costs, improve total system performance • Prevent wear of chains, sprockets, and other system components • Reduce deposit formation thereby reducing chain sticking • Provide lasting lubrication of chains at high temperatures • Reduce lubricant consumption compared to conventional chain lubricants
