Manufacturer's description

Wyrol is ExxonMobil's comprehensive range of liquid additive concentrates for optimising the frictional characteristics of cold rolling oils such as the Somentor Series, letting aluminium rolling mills fine-tune performance and achieve the required surface finish and substrate quality. Wyrol 2 is an oxidation inhibitor concentrate that extends roll oil life; Wyrol 4 and 8 are single lubricity additives with a small amount of anti-oxidant; Wyrol 6 and 10 are ester-based, Wyrol 8 is alcohol-based, and Wyrol 12 combines alcohol and ester technologies, while Wyrol 4 is acid-based. Together, the combination of lubricity additives and oxidation inhibitor gives excellent frictional characteristics for a range of cold rolling oils under different mill conditions, allowing operators to optimise the formulation to suit their specific mill. Wyrol 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 are designed to comply with FDA 21 CFR 178.3910(a), suiting use in rolling foil or sheet stock for food applications. Benefits include a high degree of flexibility to fine-tune roll oils for optimum mill performance, extended roll oil life, improved finished product quality, and reduced reject and waste material. For best performance, products should be stored in a warmer (30°C) environment for 24 hours prior to use if previously stored below 5°C for an extended period.

Applications

  • For optimum performance we recommend to have the product stored in a warmer ( 30*C) environment for 24 h prior use, this is especially valid if the product has been stored in a temperature below 5 *C for a longer time ( several months).

Performance & benefits

  • Wyrol products offer the following benefits: Wyrol products provide a high degree of flexibility for the customer to fine-tune roll oils to obtain the optimum performance from their roll oils and the mills. This leads to increased production of acceptable quality material and reduces the potential for reject material. • Optimised mill production and quality of finished product • Can significantly extend roll oil life • Improved finished product quality • Reduced reject and waste production material
