Walzoel BM 71/W-27 covers two specialised ExxonMobil rolling oils. Walzoel W-27 is a fully formulated aluminium rolling oil based on a high quality mineral oil cut with specially selected non-staining additives, particularly suited to rolling aluminium sheet and strip; it provides clean annealing without prior degreasing and good reduction capability for aluminium alloys, with Wyrol 8 available as the corresponding additive top-up package. Walzoel BM 71 is a copper and copper-alloy rolling oil made from high quality base oils and carefully selected additives to enhance lubricity and oxidation stability, suited to four-high and six-high mills where roll bearings are not lubricated by the rolling oil; its low viscosity provides excellent cooling. Walzoel W-27 meets US FDA Regulation 21 CFR 178.3910, allowing use in the production of food packaging material, and has extremely low aromatics content and low odour. Walzoel BM 71 offers excellent filterability in systems using active and/or inactive earth filter media, contains no sulphur-containing additives, and has a very low additive depletion rate, with very good oxidation resistance that prevents the formation of dissolved copper soaps.

Applications

• Walzoel W-27: Walzoel W-27 is particularly suited for rolling aluminum sheet and strip. It provides clean annealing without the need of degreasing beforehand. The additives used in Walzoel W27 provide good reduction capability for aluminum alloys. For additive top-up the corresponding additive package Wyrol 8 is available. Walzoel BM 71: Walzoel BM 71 is particular suited for rolling of copper and copper alloys on four-high and six-high mills where roll bearings are not lubricated by the rolling oil. The low viscosity provides excellent cooling properties. The very good oxidation resistance and the absence of acidic components prevent the formation of dissolved copper soaps.
