Mobilmet 760 Series are extra high performance, chlorine-free neat cutting oils intended for severe cutting operations, especially on difficult-to-machine steels. They are not recommended for use with copper and its alloys due to their aggressiveness towards these softer yellow metals. Compared with other leading premium cutting oils, Mobilmet 760 Series has demonstrated superior surface finish, extended tool life and control of built-up edge, while its light colour keeps the work area visible and helps achieve consistently closer tolerances. The oils are also formulated to limit oil mist formation near the machine tool for a safer working environment. Specific grades are matched to particular operations: Mobilmet 762 is suited to drilling, deep hole drilling under 20 mm diameter, threading, tapping, parting-off and automatic lathe work on small parts; Mobilmet 763 is recommended for deep hole drilling over 20 mm diameter, drilling, tapping, threading, milling, gear shaping, broaching, parting-off and automatic lathe operations; and Mobilmet 766 is used for tapping, threading, milling, gear shaving and shaping, broaching, planing, parting-off and automatic lathe operations. Key benefits include superb machining performance with longer tool life and fewer rejects, excellent lubricity for cooler work pieces and higher feed rates, broad multi-purpose capability across severe operations on difficult steels, a light transparent colour for clear visibility, and an anti-mist formulation for improved workplace safety. • Mobilmet 760 Series are recommended for severe cutting operations on normal and difficult to machine steels. Specific applications, by grade, include: • Mobilmet 762 is particularly suitable for drilling, deep hole drilling (less than 20 mm diameter), threading, tapping, parting-off and automatic lathe operations on small work pieces • Mobilmet 763 is recommended for deep hole drilling (greater than 20 mm diameter), drilling, tapping, threading, milling, gear shaping, broaching, parting-off and automatic lathe operations • Mobilmet 766 is used for tapping, threading, milling, gear shaving and shaping, broaching, planing, parting-off and automatic lathe operations
