Manufacturer's description
Mobilcut is Mobil Industrial's line of high-performance, water-miscible metal removal fluids, formulated with leading-edge base oils, additives and emulsifiers. The non-chlorinated products are supplied in concentrated form for mixing with water at the point of use, and are designed to work across a range of hard and soft water qualities while offering low foam potential and long-term corrosion protection for machines and components. The series spans four technologies: Mobilcut 100, a conventional milky soluble oil for a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous cutting and grinding operations; Mobilcut 140, a lubricity-enhanced, long-life soluble fluid for moderate to heavy duty machining; Mobilcut 250, a high-performance semi-synthetic fluid optimized for aluminum and aluminum alloys with low staining potential, plus carbon/alloy steels and yellow metals; and Mobilcut 320, a synthetic, mineral-oil-free fluid for general grinding requiring high surface finish, outstanding cooling and low foaming. Across the range, the fluids form stable emulsions and solutions for ease of use, resist the formation of sticky residues, separate well from fines to improve filterability and surface finish, and maintain a neutral odor for a better workplace environment. Long-term inherent stability extends batch life and reduces odor issues, and the products are compatible with Mobil Vactra Oil Numbered Series slideway lubricants, allowing easy separation and removal of tramp oil. Typical applications include general machining of easy-to-machine steels and copper alloys (Mobilcut 100), machining of aluminum and high-machinability steels (Mobilcut 140), machining of aluminum and aluminum alloys plus versatile ferrous work (Mobilcut 250), and grinding of steels and cast iron (Mobilcut 320). Corrosion performance is confirmed by DIN 51360-2, with pH around 9.1 at 5% dilution (Mobilcut 140) and dilution-specific emulsion characteristics per PTM 141.
Applications
- Mobilcut 100: General machining of easy to machine steels and copper alloys in light to moderate duty machining operations such as milling, turning, sawing, boring, drilling and reaming. Mobilcut 140: Machining of aluminum and high machinability steels in o moderate to heavy duty operations such as milling, turning, sawing, boring, drilling and reaming where the lubricity of a soluble oil is desired. Mobilcut 250: Semi synthetic cutting fluid primarily intended for the machining of aluminum and aluminum alloys. It may also be used on a wide variety of ferrous materials where a more versatile fluid is required. Mobilcut 320: Synthetic (mineral oil-free) grinding fluid, primarily recommended for grinding of steels and cast iron.
