Manufacturer's description

Mobilcut is ExxonMobil's trademark for a line of high-performance, water-miscible metal-removal fluids formulated with leading-edge base oils, additives and emulsifiers. Non-chlorinated and free of formaldehyde-release agents, the range works across a variety of hard and soft water qualities, offering low foam potential and long-term corrosion protection for machines and components, and is supplied as a concentrate for mixing with water at the point of use. Mobilcut 320-New is a boron-free, high-quality synthetic (mineral-oil-free) water-miscible metalworking fluid designed for general grinding operations on steel and cast iron, where high-quality surface finish, outstanding cooling and low foaming potential are the primary requirements. It is not suitable for tungsten carbide, and functions as a chemical solution across a water hardness range of 0-20°dH (extendable to 40°dH in use). Recommended concentrations range from 5-8% for low-alloy steel and cylindrical/surface grinding up to 8-10% for carbon alloy steel grinding. Key benefits include form-stable solutions for ease of use, long-term inherent stability that increases batch life and reduces odour, low foaming even in high-pressure systems, resistance to sticky residue formation, high corrosion protection, good separability from fines for improved filterability and surface finish, and compatibility with Mobil Vactra Oil Numbered Series slideway lubricants for easy tramp-oil separation.

Applications

  • Mobilcut 320-New: Synthetic (mineral oil-free) grinding fluid, primarily recommended for grinding of steels and cast iron. Not suitable for Tungsten Carbide. Fluid type is a chemical solution. Water hardness range is from 0 to 20 °dH with a possibility to go up to 40°dH in use. Its refractometer factor is 1.4. Recommended concentrations for typical operations: Low alloy steels grinding: 5-8% Carbon alloy steels grinding: 8-10% Cylindrical & Surface grinding: 5-8%
