Mobilgard HSD CI-4 series are extra high performance, multi-grade engine oils specifically formulated for severe service high-speed diesel engines in marine applications, available in SAE 15W-40 and SAE 20W-50 grades. Their advanced chemistry delivers outstanding performance in both modern, demanding low-emission diesel engines and older engines running on low or high sulphur distillate fuel, and the series is approved or recommended by major marine high-speed diesel engine builders. It is designed for the most severe service marine applications of modern high-speed diesel engines such as Caterpillar 3500 Series and smaller bore engines, Cummins, Volvo, Daihatsu and Yanmar, as well as older diesel engines on low or high sulphur distillate fuel. The oils combine high quality base stocks with a superior balanced additive system for exceptional control of oil thickening from soot build-up and high temperatures, plus outstanding resistance to oxidation, corrosion and high-temperature varnish deposits. Approvals include Cummins CES 20076/20077, MTU Oil Category 2 and Volvo VDS-3, with recommendations covering API CF, CF-4, CG-4, Cummins CES 20071/20072 and MAN M 3275-1, and the oils meet or exceed API CH-4, CI-4, SJ, SL, ACEA E7 and Caterpillar ECF-2. Benefits include excellent wear protection with a high viscosity index for a stable oil film across operating temperatures, increased high-temp/high-shear performance that reduces scuffing and bore polishing, outstanding TBN retention, and excellent water tolerance and low-temperature start-up performance.
